Job Description

The Security Master Supervisor will work in accordance with the NAV & MO teams to both build and maintain its global master database of financial products. The position will expose the Supervisor to all financial markets and products traded globally, as well as vendor pricing systems. The Supervisor will run the day to day operations of the team and have the opportunity to implement strategy development and new initiatives.

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the day to day operations by managing the master queue of team requests
  • Work closely with various Teams within the firm to understand all downstream requirements and impacts
  • Handle all security master and data management that includes account set up maintenance, work flows and vendor price feeds
  • Ensure accuracy of all reference data, which can impact Trading PnL (i.e. Terms and Conditions)
  • Reconcile and resolve data discrepancies
  • Assist in drafting Business Specifications for new features or enhancements to proprietary applications
  • Run various daily reconciliation reports to ensure data is consistent across all clients and platforms
  • Work hand in hand with development teams to implement new system updates
  • Act as the main point of support for Middle Office and NAV queries that relate to pricing, security setup, data maintenance, and vendor workflows
  • Strategize with the team daily and develop new ways to process data efficiently

 

Pre-requisite knowledge, skills and experience

  • 4+ years of experience working within a Financial Services company
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Introductory knowledge of SQL or VBA is a preferred
  • Strong understanding with the financial market
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and an ability to help foster team growth
  • Knowledge of Market Data Vendors (Bloomberg, Reuters) required
  • Ability to multi-task and succeed in a results-oriented, high pressure environment
  • Attention to detail and an understanding of the need for 100% accuracy
  • Familiarity of Database structure preferred
  • Self-motivated and solid team player
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
